EDITOR'S NOTE

The following poem I TOO AM WAITING, is one of Ernest Fitzgerald, Jr.'s more serious (some say mature) works. But, by serious, we mean, that in the overall context of www.basilbaker.com, this poem discusses life, suffering, death and hope - important topics, to be sure - but topics that can be controversial, depending on one's point of view and 'take' on the world. The reasons the editors elected to publish this poem were twofold:

1. www.basilbaker.com is a literate site for bear lovers. As we all know, reading bear lovers range in age from 3 to 100+. The editors felt it would be self-censorship to deprive our older visitors the insights this poem offers.

2. It's a really good poem!
